What is specialized field of the Animal Crisis Management (ACM)?
It was established in the Chiba Institute of Science (CIS) at 2012.
It would be the Department of unprecedented in Japan.
Assessment of food safety (commodity from animals), Zoonoses control,
Sustainable Wildlife Management, Good Laboraory Practice (GLP) ,
Laboratory Animal Science, Wildlife disease surveillance for
One Health Initiative, animal welfare, conservation of endangered species,
protection to bio-terrorism, bio-safety practice etc. are targets of the ACM.
(Lecture slides are exhibited under the item of "for 3rd year student, principle
of animal crisis management" sorry in Japanese 3年生授業動物危機管理学概論)
The CIS has the Faculty of Risk and Crisis Management, which consists of
five Departments. They are department of crisis management system,
medical investigation, environment, engineering and animal risk and crisis
management.
The CIS has branch in many countries and opens for foreign students.
Last year I visited Nepal and contacted with students who hope study in CIS.

"One Health Program including human in Animal World" is conducted aiming at the construction of Agricultural Science Research Station in Japan. In order to obtain a sustainable society of "One Health", we will try to establish a translational research center (the Agriculture Science Research Station). In the center, we integrate scientific knowledge on resources from land and sea, and investigate a comparative genomics of higher mammals for innovation. Core institute is Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo and the implementing agencies are all the Universities and other National Institutes in Japan.
We integrate the existing agricultural animal sciences from the view of "One Health" concept, and set up four research wings (Animal bio-resource, Domestic animal innovation, Companion animal innovation and Wild life bio-medicine) to promote novel BIOSCIENCE. Therefore, we want to create novel Agricultural Science adopted by interdisciplinary relationship rather than vertical division. We aim to accomplish the healthful world (One Health), in which every living organisms live coordinately and harmoniously on the earth (One World).
Proposed Budget is 180 Million Dollars for ten years. The project was proposed to the Japanese Government and was included in final top 27 items per more than 400 items originally applied in the Science Council Japan. We hope it will be actual in the near future.
